Megahertz pacing the halls at BroadcastAsia2018

Megahertz Broadcast , a trusted partner for systems integration with years of experience in delivering cost-effective , imaginative designs and solutions for fixed and mobile applications , is attending BroadcastAsia2018 as it continues to invest in strengthening its knowledge of key vendor IP offerings and IP roadmaps .
Paul Jones , VP sales , Asia-Pacific , explains : “ It is critical that we can provide the very best options when it comes to rolling out both established and new technologies , including providing guidance and support to those transitioning from baseband to IP-based operations , 4K / Ultra HD ( UHD ) operations and file-based workflows , as well as traditional SDI infrastructures .”
Megahertz ’ s Asia-Pacific team specialises in design and integration services for large facility relocation and upgrade projects , greenfield facilities and high-quality coach building for outside broadcast ( OB ).
It designs , engineers and delivers
turnkey systems to some of the world ’ s leading broadcasters , content owners and media service providers . Its engineers and solutions architects are drawn from both broadcast and IT backgrounds to ensure a creative , forward-thinking , independent and a highly-efficient approach .
The company also provides consultancy , training and support services .
Last year , Megahertz facilitated a landmark migration to IP of a Southeast Asian pay-TV service provider by designing and implementing an hybrid SDI / IP media headend at the organisation ’ s new state-of-the-art hub .
According to Megahertz , when it comes to the IP evolution , broadcasters are now recognising the incredible operational and commercial benefits that it can bring — but the implementation challenges are many , so hiring an experienced and resourceful SI should be top of the priority list for any media organisation considering this journey .
Until recently , the IP evolution has been confined to islands within a facility and tasks that naturally lend themselves readily to the transition .
Now , the technology allows the use of the basic three elements : storage , computing ( servers ) and networking , supporting software solutions that can run in a private or public cloud .
Jones adds : “ For broadcasters , this offers huge opportunities in the longer term , increases flexibility and workflow efficiencies while reducing operational costs and generating new revenue streams — as long as the implementation is managed properly .”
As an SI that has been involved with the transition from traditional broadcast to an all-IP world , Jones asserts that Megahertz is ideally placed to help : “ Just as we have supplied support through technology evolutions in broadcasting before , we can provide the foundation of a successful transition into a public or private cloud , and help organisations
