Lynx Technik showcasing new additions to its yellobrik
Lynx Technik ’ s series of yellobrik modular brick products is continuing to grow with the latest addition of the PEC 1864 .
An H . 264 encoder for live streaming and recording , it allows users to simultaneously stream content while recording it . The module houses two independent encoders — a stream encoder and a record encoder . Users can stream content with simultaneous recording or choose from the stream-only or record-only options .
The independent encoders support different quality settings for the streamer and the recorder . For example , users may wish to simultaneously stream content directly to the Web in lower quality due to limited bandwidth , and record at a higher master quality for further editing or archiving .
The yellobrik accepts either an SDI or an HDMI input supporting up to 3G ( 1080p @ 60Hz ) and compresses it using the H . 264 encoding standard . It supports a variety of popular streaming outputs , including RTMP for streaming to content delivery networks ( CDN ).
Using this streaming format , users can enter their CDN log-in credentials into the yellobrik ’ s Web browser-based graphical user
interface ( GUI ), and stream the content live on their CDN channel .
Each video encoder includes a region of interest ( ROI ) scaler , enabling users to crop the image and stream / record only that portion of the image . Users can even insert a logo into the content stream to suit branding and copywriting content , and when the CDN provider does not provide a logo insertion tool .
The PEC 1864 is also particularly suited for broadcast-quality streaming applications , according to Lynx Technik . These include electronic newsgathering , headend encoding for TV stations and lower budget broadcast streaming .
The company also recommends the PEC 1864 for Pro AV applications such as live event streaming and media delivery over the Internet using a CDN provider , corporate or enterprise broadcast / streaming of media assets , presentation and conferencing , digital signage , houses of worship proceedings streaming , A / V system monitoring , and security camera streaming for monitoring , among others .

which includes a fibre transmitter ( OTX 1410 ), a fibre receiver ( ORX1400 ) and a fibre transceiver ( OTR 1410 ).
These products are designed to provide error-free transmitting and receiving of 12G ( 4096x2160 @ 60Hz ), as well as 6G and 3G signals if required , all with full uncompressed video quality .
All three modules provide support for a maximum distance of approximately 10km ( 6.2 miles ) using LC single-mode fibre .
The complete video payload , including any embedded audio and metadata , is converted and transmitted transparently over fibre . No settings are needed as the module auto detects the video standard ( 12G , 6G or 3G ) and adapts accordingly for complete plug-and-play functionality .

SDI still has key role to play , says TSL Products
The transition to IP is inevitable ; however , SDI still has a key role to play in the broadcast industry as Chris Exelby , managing director , TSL Products , points out : “ There is still huge investment in SDI around the world .”
For the first time in Asia , TSL Products is showcasing the MPA1 Solo SDI audio monitor . Part of the MPA ( Monitor Plus Audio ) range , the MPA1 Solo SDI provides users with an “ intuitive yet flexible ” audio monitoring tool that enables users to view all 16 embedded channels simultaneously while allowing any channel to be selected for monitoring .
At only 1RU high and 100mm deep , TSL Products says the MPA1 Solo SDI is ideal for use in the most confined environments , such as outside broadcast ( OB ) vehicles and small flight-packs .
The MPA Solo SDI source , channel names and system parameters can be managed remotely over an Ethernet network using the built-in Web server . Audio levels , signal status and format can all be viewed remotely via the Web graphical user interface ( GUI ). The audio monitor is available at an attractive price point of US $ 2,100 .
Exelby also encourages visitors to check out the MPA1 Solo SDI ’ s sister product , the MPA1 Mix Dante , designed specifically for use where operators need to create a custom mix from a Dante system . It is also meant to be flexible and user-friendly , as Exelby describes : “ You do not have to be a specialist to use the MPA1 Mix Dante .”
The MPA1 Mix Dante is equipped with a built-in Web server that enables users to remotely view the status and control the networked MPA1 monitors , allowing for quick fault finding and adjustment . The Web UI ( user interface ) also enables engineers to remotely configure and customise individual units and functions .
Welcoming visitors to booth 6J3-01 , Exelby concludes : “ It does not matter if you are looking to work in IP , if you are still working in SDI , or if you are working on a combination of both . We have solutions that will suit all of your needs .”
