Ideal Systems highlights 360 VR
production and IP workflows
Find out more about live 360 VR production at the
Ideal Systems booth.
Having been recently deployed for PCCW
Global’s 360 live, virtual reality (VR) cover-
age of rugby’s Hong Kong Sevens, systems
integrator Ideal Systems is bringing the Nokia
OZO 360 VR camera to Asia for the first time.
At booth 6M3-01, two OZO cameras are
demonstrating a live VR workflow and a
production workflow, while Nokia’s OZO
Creator editing and production software
delivers live 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) output to
Oculus VR head-mounted displays.

EXPERIENCE THE FUTURE
flows, Ideal Systems is highlighting Embrio-
nix’s IP conversion solutions, which deploy a
product design based on an SFP (Small Form-
Factor Pluggable) that can be inserted directly
inside equipment from other manufacturers.
According to Fintan Mc Kiernan, CEO of
Ideal Systems, South-east Asia, Embrionix’s
solutions ensure interoperability not only
with IP switch manufacturers, but also with
all manufacturers and developers working
towards a unified standard for IP.
He adds: “Embrionix is playing a key role
in IP adoption with their SFP technology
because of where and how they apply their
technology in system infrastructures.
“SFP-based infrastructures now have the
flexibility to change between IP standard
formats, and between hardware infrastruc-
tures with a simple SFP swap, configuration
or firmware upgrade.”
Other highlights from Ideal Systems
include Dejero’s LIVE+ platform, which
enables broadcasters, media organisations
and mobile production companies to reli-
ably reach their global TV, Web and mobile
audiences instantly and cost-effectively. The
cloud-based platform intelligently manages
and bonds wired and wireless network con-
nections to deliver broadcast-quality live
video from virtually anywhere.
Ideal Systems is also the largest Phabrix
dealer in the world, and is offering, for the
first time in Asia, the Qx IP, a single device
for IP, 4K/UHD and high dynamic range
(HDR) analysis and monitoring. Delivering
all the key tools for hybrid IP, 3G-SDI and
HDR broadcast environments, the Qx IP is
ideal for infrastructure compliance testing
and content monitoring, says Mc Kiernan.
Joining Ideal Systems this year is Vizrt’s
Chris Black, who is leading a live studio
demonstration incorporating Vizrt’s Mosart
studio automation and real-time augmented
reality graphics from a Viz Engine. Black is
filmed live on a Grass Valley Box camera
fitted to an Electric Friends automated
robot and in front of an LED display from
PrimeView, who is participating at the Ideal
Systems booth.
Last but not least, Ideal Systems is also
showcasing Astec’s iBroadcast, a solution to
control and monitor the entire broadcast
system platform from end-to-end, through
a single operational dashboard. Essentially,
iBroadcast is a scalable and multi-vendor
network management system (NMS) that
is capable of monitoring and controlling
the entire broadcast platform, Mc Kiernan
concludes.
