AJA ROVOCAM AND
ROVOCONTROL V1.0
Since debuting at ISE 2016,
AJA RovoCam has been in
high demand across the sports,
industrial, corporate, security,
ProAV and broadcast industries.
The UltraHD/HD compact block
camera includes an integrated
HDBaseT interface supporting
uncompressed video, power, stereo
audio and RS-232 control over a
single CAT 5e/6 cable at lengths of
up to 100m.
At the NAB Show, AJA
unveiled RovoControl v1.0, a new
application for controlling one or
multiple RovoCams that will be
available soon as a free download.
RovoCam is built around Sony’s
4K FCB-ER8300 functional camera
block, featuring back illuminated
AJA’s RovoCam UltraHD/HD compact
block camera.
CMOS sensor technology and
Sony image processing for
excellent performance. Reliable,
practical and encased in durable
aluminium, RovoCam’s light form
factor allows mounting in a range
of scenarios. RovoRx-HDMI, a
companion receiver unit, offers
seamless integration with an
HDMI output, and video/audio
signals, power and control over
HDBaseT.
RovoControl v1.0 features
zoom, focus and iris control;
electronic PTZ to move a 1080p
box around an UltraHD frame
for ROI Pan, Tilt and Zoom
extraction for HD workflows;
the ability to change between
UltraHD and HD; and Windows,

AJA KI PRO ULTRA AND V1.2
FIRMWARE
Ki Pro Ultra, AJA’s file-based 4K/
UltraHD/2K/HD video recorder
and player, was well received by
the production community after
launching at Inter BEE in Japan
late last year.
The device is capable of
capturing edit-ready 4K (4096
x 2160), UltraHD (3840 x 2160),
2K (2048 x 1080) and HD (1920
x 1080) Apple ProRes files. It
features a built-in HD LCD monitor;
supports a range of video formats
and frame rates up to 4K 60p; and
delivers flexible I/O connectivity —
including 3G-SDI, Fibre and HDMI
— for powerful and efficient largeraster and HFR workflows.
At 2016 NAB Show, AJA
announced that it will soon release
free Ki Pro Ultra v1.2 firmware,
adding ExFAT file system support
to use AJA Pak Media on PC or
Linux systems without requiring
third-party software; 16-channel
embedded SDI audio; embedded
Closed Captioning in compliance
with FCC and SMPTE standards;
and SMPTE 2SI I/O support,
extending compatibility with 4K/
UltraHD displays and devices.
