A study of adults and children with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) treated with the same pediatric chemotherapy regimen suggests that younger adults should, in fact, be treated like children. All patients received induction and consolidation therapy (consisting of prednisolone, vincristine, doxorubicin, pegylated asparaginase, and mercaptopurine), with high-risk patients receiving additional intensive combination chemotherapy.
