IBAC's activities in January focused on key priorities for 2018: the further development of IS-BAO and IS-BAH and the
awareness-raising campaign regarding the coming requirements of the ICAO Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for
International Aviation (CORSIA). In addition, the ICAO Air Navigation Commission began the new year by approving for the
Council's review and adoption proposed amendments to the Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) in the Annexes
of the Chicago Convention.
CORSIA UPDATE CORSIA overview was presented at the recent NBAA Regional Forum by IBAC Director General, Kurt
Edwards
IATA CORSIA single day workshops began, IBAC was present and supporting IATA at the recently held Miami event.
There were 100 attendees in total for the first two workshops, including operators and FBO’ s from the business aviation
community.
Next two IATA workshops being held with IBAC support: Singapore on 8 & 9 February and 28 February (full) & 1 March in
Geneva.
Other IATA workshops being held in Accra on 13 February, Moscow on 15 February and Buenos Aires on 21 February.
Additional CORSIA workshops are scheduled to be held at EBACE in May, CBAA in June, and NBAA-BACE. Dates for each
to be confirmed.
IBAC Launches 2018 Workshop Schedule –
IS-BAO™ and IS-BAH™ Global Class Dates Set
(IBAC) has announced its 2018 workshop schedule for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations
(IS-BAO) and International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) programmes. One of the first initiatives for
adopting the industry codes of best practices and achieving the globally recognized IS-BAO or IS-BAH registration
standard is sending a representative from the organization to one of these workshops. Typically, the IBAC workshops
consist of two day-long sessions. The first day is dedicated to IS-BAO or IS-BAH fundamentals and is followed by a
day focused on auditing and evaluation requirements, with an emphasis on SMS performance validation.
We are looking forward to a busy workshop schedule this year and continue to identify key
locations to accommodate newly interested operators, FBOs, and auditors as well as registered
participants seeking recurrent training,” stated Kurt Edwards, Director General of the International
Business Aviation Council. “The current schedule will continue to expand throughout the year as
needed, and we encourage operators, handlers, and auditors to check our website for the latest
updates.
