Simon Tedeschi is one of Australia's most acclaimed classical pianists. His
latest recording is a performance of one of the masterworks of the solo piano
repertoire: Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. He recently took part in an
interview at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, in association with a major
new exhibition, The Greats: Masterpieces from the National Galleries of
Scotland. Simon Tedeschi was interviewed by mathematician and broadcaster
Lily Serna.
LS: First up, a massive congratulations for the
new release. It seems like it got a unanimous rave
review from pretty much all the reviewers, so
you must be pretty happy with that?
ST: Well let's see, I think most of them are in... but
reviews are of course a very tenuous topic, because
like anybody we love good reviews and we tend to
seek out the ones that are positive and reject the
ones that are negative, especially if we played well.
