their passion and purpose. In my opinion success will never be a one size fits all solution. I had taken my podcast idea to a close colleague and great producer, Steph Dower from Dower Productions, who came on board and together we created the Our Definition of Success Podcast. I have already started another podcast initiative based on my interest in chatting with interesting people, and it’s called Desmore Chats With... Memorable guests interviewed so far? Born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa, now living in Brisbane, Australia, Desmore Nero loves inspiring people with her work in the media arena. “My mission is clear: I want to continue creating media projects and content that will enrich people's lives”. Desmore enjoys getting involved in local, global and international community projects empowering both women and men in a life-changing and positive way. Her passion has led her to embark on the Our Definition of Success podcast. How did you start the podcast? I had an idea for a podcast that would focus on what success means to different people. In today’s world, success is mostly measured by a person’s material wealth and social status, when in fact success should be determined by one’s own personal assessment of their accomplishments and how happy they are within their own life journey. I love chatting with guests who have achieved their own version of success through There were so many great guests, each with his or her own story of how they have achieved their own “success story”. I loved learning new aspects and approaches to everyday life experiences from these wonderful and unique people. I have had many light bulb moments doing this project. I must admit the one common thread that I have found through my interviews is how excited and passionate our guests were about their journey, whether it is in their career, professional or personal life. They don’t often have the best of, or abundance of everything, but they make the best of what they have. In essence, we all have the ability to reach our full potential if we trust our instincts and move forward with passion and enthusiasm. Things you have learnt about success? I have learnt that success is measured and has a very different meaning for each person. We live in a world where we are sold a notion that success is measured by our “material wealth”, “successful achievements” and where we sit within the social arena. These feelings are also heightened by our obsession with the whole celebrity culture and current Reality TV phenomenon. I have learnt that the true value of success is measured by how happy you are within yourself, most importantly staying true to your values without having to compromise who you are to conform with society's expectations. I have learnt that living from the inside out provides a clearer personal picture of what success in the greater scheme of things truly represents. For more information head to www.desmorenero.com
