Having learnt all the bossa chords, I then found that I
was using them in original songs I was beginning to
write (which often came about as mistakes when I was
playing the bossa classics). I decided that having
written a few songs and since my guitar playing was
improving, I would throw in my job as a media lawyer
and move to Rio – to immerse myself in the music, in
the place where the music was born. From then on, it
all kind of came to me, and bossa became the
backdrop of my own compositions.
