Returning to art after a long absence, Cynthia Rosen found a new personal vision, expressed in a series of brilliant landscape paintings inspired by the light and colours of the Arizona desert. My involvement in art basically began in college. As a youth I disliked school and did not want to go to college, preferring to stay home and paint on my own; but my father (the only one in his family to attend college) would not hear of such „foolishness‟. As a result when I was one awarded a free ride to one of the three colleges of my choosing (in this case the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston) by the National Scholarship Art Competition, all discussion ended.
