Dare To Fly (1998) Cairns Birdwing Butterflies, Queensland I have often thought of the butterfly as a wordpicture for making the most out of the present moment. Life can seem short when we age a little. This species lives a mere four to five weeks. During that time they follow their drive to reproduce, only pausing to feed and to rest to recoup energy. And so the Cairns Birdwing Butterfly, our largest and arguably one of our boldest reminds me that I should seize life with gusto, that I should ‘dare to fly’ each and every day of my life. www.steveparish-natureconnect.com.au
