Krista Vendy is an actress known for

How did your interest in archaeology begin?
As one of my professors said, a lot of budding
archaeologists and astrophysicists first get
inspired by watching films like Indiana Jones and
Star Wars. Seeing the films of Indiana Jones for
me captured the essence of adventure and
imagination, and exploring places and artefacts
that have not been found yet. Also my Dad has
always been interested in archaeology, and that
rubbed off on me.

Is there a particular time period or area of
archaeology that you're interested in?
I am really interested in First Civilizations.
Ancient Iraq (Mesopotamia) and the surrounding
area is often called the Fertile Crescent and the
Cradle of Civilization. The Tigris and Euphrates
rivers supplied fresh water for humans, plants,
and animals. Eventually these rivers would
provide irrigation for the farms of the first
civilization in human history. Sumer developed
around 3500 BCE and people were living in
multiple cities with governments and religions,
