Jewellery is Gondomar’s main economic
activity, the Municipality holds the title of
"Capital da Ourivesaria" (The Jewellery
Capital). The Filigree, in gold or silver, has
a special place among the creations of the
local jewellers; handcrafted, it is designed
in small scale workshops, family owned,
through techniques handed down from
generation to generation.
The Filigree Route is intended to show and
value the genuine jewellers of Gondomar.
You can acquire, in all of the places,
directly and at the best price, unique
pieces, by getting to know its author and
all of the production process. You can get
to know better the art behind a luxury
item, between a thousand year old
tradition and the contemporary.
