ART&TUR IN GAIA – A WHOLE WORLD
OF CINEMA AND TOURISM
For the 9th consecutive year, the ART&TUR Film Festival gathers in the
north of Portugal hundreds of excellent tourism films - advertising, documentaries and TV series – coming from dozens of countries worldwide.
And since 2015, and surely for many years, it has been in Vila Nova de
Gaia that the Festival has taken place. Through this innovative event,
ART&TUR’s intention is to bring visibility and prestige to Gaia’s new city
brand, calling together well known experts in tourism cinematography.
Cinema and tourism are two rather distinct activity sectors, but they share
a common goal: the dream of travelling... The Portuguese poet, António
Gedeão, wrote in his book “Pedra Filosofal” “that dream commands life.
When a man or woman dreams, the world leaps and moves forward like
a colourful ball in the hands of a child.” So, if “the dream is a constant in
life”, it is also the dream that determines travel decisions for those tourists who flock to more or less distant destinations.
