Science in the Art of Filming These are pictures of the making of the famous character Davy Jones from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. This picture shows on the phase of the process of the making a movie. Certain programs are used to design these kinds of graphics and help make it appear as real as possible. This is the final image of the character, which we see in the movie. This proves that movies, TV series, and shows would have never been that advanced if science and technology were not used to improve it. The picture above shows two characters from the movie Lord of the Rings. The short character is a hobbit, which I a very small sized creature. Instead of using very expensive graphics to show the difference is sizes between this character and other characters, the director, Peter Jackson, used extremely advanced camera tricks to do so. He controlled the distances between the cameras and the characters in order to view the hobbit near and the other characters further away to create the illusion that the hobbits are smaller than all the other characters are. Jackson used basic science to save money and still deliver the image he wanted. By Lamees H. Kaldas
