Leonardo Da Vinci: Artist & Scientist By: Nadine Amin As you all know, Leonardo Da Vinci is known for his outstanding paintings such as Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, but he was also a great mathematician. He loved drawing geometric shapes, and studied civil engineering, architecture, zoology, astronomy, geology, and many others. His life began when he was seventeen years old and wanted to become a painter. While studying art, he broadened his studies and was stunned by nature. He drew anything around him, like rocks, caves and fossils. He isn’t known much for his science since one of the reasons he failed was because at his time, many of the mathematic laws weren’t discovered yet, so his studies weren’t as accurate.
