The Other Place was originally developed in association with Matt Olin, and originally produced by MCC Theatre
(Robert Lupone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) in association
with Marc Platt.
PORTLAND PLAYHOUSE was founded in 2008 in the King neighborhood of Northeast Portland. Portland
Playhouse is committed to creating a space where people of all social, economic, racial, sexual and
political backgrounds can come together to celebrate the complexity of the human experience. We
achieve this by producing professional theatre in a neighborhood setting, engaging in community
outreach initiatives, and offering dynamic educational programs. Named best theatre by Portland
Monthly in 2012, The Playhouse has earned 22 awards for its productions of The Brother/Sister Plays,
Mother Teresa is Dead, Radio Golf, Dying City, Willow Jade, The Light in the Piazza, and A Christmas Carol.
