The next recipe is a version of mulled cider from the Better Homes and Gardens annual cookbook from 1994. I am unsure as to who made it, but Mom has made it for the past few years and it is very good. We cut back on the called for amount of brown sugar because that makes it too sweet for our tastes, but it might suit yours. I do hope you enjoy it as much as we do. 1 quart of apple cider 1/3 cup packed brown sugar ½ t. whole allspice 2 3 inch sticks of cinnamon 6 whole cloves Garnish – cinnamon sticks Combine first 5 ingredients in a dutch oven and bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes, then remove and discard the spices and serve hot. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired. For the adults that like adult beverages, add a little rum or bourbon for a tasty adult version.
