We cut back on the called for amount of brown sugar because that makes it too sweet for our tastes, but it might suit yours. I do hope you enjoy it as much as we do. 1 quart of apple cider 1/3 cup packed brown sugar ½ t. whole allspice 2 3 inch sticks of cinnamon 6 whole cloves Garnish – cinnamon sticks Combine first 5 ingredients in a dutch oven and bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes, then remove and discard the spices and serve hot. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired. For the adults that like adult beverages, add a little rum or bourbon for a tasty adult version.
