The young man was now making plans to continue
college and to become a chaplain to help others to turn
from the road he had almost chosen for his life.
God works in mysterious ways. And now here sat
Ann with a beautiful, helpless child at her feet who had
no family; and she and James who after talking long into
the night before had prayed that if all that had transpired
in the past twenty-four hours was part of God’s plan for
their lives, that everyone concerned in the matter would
make the right decisions to fulfill that plan. Ann drifted
off into the most peaceful sleep that she’d had since the
terrible day of the car accident.
…Years later, Ann and James still marvel at the
miracle of that long ago twenty-four hour time frame
that turned their darkness into light. Nancy is now a
happy teenager with an inseparable old dog who still
trots after her every step in the house.
Ann and James’ faith in God had seen them through
their greatest tragedy, and their life is now a blessing and
witness to everyone who knows them.
