Ann covered Nancy with a small afghan and leaned
back into the soft, warm couch and allowed her mind to
marvel at the happenings of the past twenty-four hours.
She and her husband, James, had been close to a
decision to adopt a child after the months of heartache
over the death of their precious daughter in a car
accident. The other vehicle had come out of nowhere,
totaling Ann’s car; leaving her and James in agony over
their loss.
The driver of the other car, a young man in his
twenties, had been texting, and looking up too late,
missed the stop sign and changed all their lives for
eternity. He was now in prison, but Ann’s husband and
she had become close to him and his family. They lived in
the same neighborhood and saw each other frequently.
James had recently led the young man to accept Christ as
Savior, and his parents, though heart-broken over the
separation from their only child, felt the accident had
saved him from the wrong path of life he had been
headed down.
