Help for those in need and their loved ones in our County
Alcoholics Anonymous is a worldwide fellowship of millions of
alcoholic men and women who are banded together to solve their
common problems and to help fellow sufferers in recovery from
the age-old, baffling malady, alcoholism.
Many people, non-alcoholics, report that as a result of the
practice of A.A.’s Twelve Steps, they have been able to meet other
difficulties of life. They think that the Twelve Steps can mean
more that sobriety for problem drinkers. They see in them a way
to happy and effective living for many, alcoholic or not.
The Al-Anon Family groups are a fellowship of relatives and
friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and
hope, in order to solve their common problems. They believe
alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid
recovery.
Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. They
do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving
comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and
encouragement to the alcoholic.
