"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" will be presented at Cité des Arts June 2 through 5. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening performances will be at 7:30 p.m with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

This hilarious, heartwarming musical comedy centers on six quirky, ambitious adolescents competing in their all-important county spelling bee. It was conceived by Rebecca Feldman with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin and additional material by Jay Reiss. The 2005 Broadway production, directed by James Lapine, won two Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical.
