The workshop will introduce the basic skills and some of the
particular techniques of the Chinese Lingnan School of
Painting. Using paintings from the past and by demonstrating
in class, Mr Lai Ming and Mrs Lai Wong Wing-yin will teach
you the techniques to paint various subjects such as
landscapes, birds and flowers, insects and animals.
Mr Lai Ming, PolyU’s Artist-in-Residence 2008/09, is a
renowned artist of the Chinese Lingnan School of Painting. He
studied under the tutelage of Lingnan master Mr Gao Jianfu
and is one of the few Lingnan painters who are still active in the
art circle promoting Chinese painting. His fresh style, which is
characterized by a blending of Chinese and Western painting
techniques, and his exquisite use of brush, ink and colour have
brought a touch of vigour and a note of perfection to his
artwork.
Mrs Lai Wong Wing-yin is an accomplished Lingnan artist
focusing on both painting and calligraphy. She is now
Chairman of the International Women Artists Association and
President of both the Hong Kong Springtide Art Society and
Fareast Culture & Arts Exchange Centre. She has hosted
several International Women Artists Exhibitions in Hong Kong
and China and her works are widely collected by institutions
from China and abroad.
香港著名國畫藝術家黎明先生及黎黃詠賢女士在此一國畫
班，將會即席臨摹畫稿，讓學員領會嶺南畫派的山水、花
鳥、蟲魚、走獸等技法，從而認識嶺南畫派的歷史源流與
風格特色。
黎明先生是2008/09年度理大駐校藝術家，嶺南派傳人，師
從嶺南畫派創始人高劍父。畫作融會中西，創造性地建立個
人的藝術天地。他的筆法、墨韻、賦彩各具特色，畫風兼雄
渾豪健之骨，清遠飄逸之韻，別有雅俗共賞之趣。
黎黃詠賢女士能書擅畫，為現任國際女畫家聯盟會長、春潮
畫會及遠東文化藝術交流中心理事長，先後在香港及內地
舉辦國際女畫家聯展，作品被國內及海外多所機構收藏。
