I'm a gay folk surrealist/homosurrealist and modiste ( one who makes and sells hats) from a relatively small town in Alabama. Living as a gay surrealist who makes weird crochet hats in Alabama , as one might imagine , is not an easy task or profitable, but , it is who I am and nothing can change that fact... So , I carry on making strange art and loving my family and friends and biding my time until I'm able and / or ready to move elsewhere, either to heaven , if that's my destiny or to greener pastures to continue making art in a more gay friendly and art sales profitable area , a cooler (in all ways ) place where the folks are groovy and the weather calls for winter hats .

My art is intended to evoke familiarity as well as a new beauty , a child's view , as I am still a child in mind and soul . I use a very wide pallete of color and texture and use unconventional or child like art supplies such as pipe cleaners and nail polish. I love fiber and wire to sculpt and draw with and even "paint" using color to draw the eye around each piece. I'm influenced by Saturday morning cartoons of my childhood and sexuality and love / inclusion, as well as pop culture and current events. We are all in this together so let's get together, eh?
