Art of the Magic Mirror

A Tradional and non Traditional

way of seeing a work of art.

My recent work follows in the tradition of Chagall. It is not of one category. It has its own voice developed out a new way of looking. These images hover between the traditional and non traditional way of looking at an art work, a painting. In these images, one sees through the work not into it. They challenge the idea of an art piece exhibited on a wall. The wall has disappeared and what remains is a membrane that can be hung exhibited in

any direction. They can be traditionally exhibited as well. by putting them on a wall. They create options, new ways of seeing "reality". The viewer becomes a participant in the composition, enmeshed within the structure. Size, distance, become irrelevant. This experimentation is intimately connected to Homosurrealism, through its magical reference of the psychologically unknown. Social media has made this work viable by its flattening of reality and time, which makes all things possible. It is a new context for making art.
