How long it takes you to create a
scene for each picture?
It depends on the photos. Sometimes it
takes up to six hours to build the set. In any
case, never less than
two hours. This is really incredible! So many
hours to arrange everything meticulously,
and then, only about
twenty minutes of shots and we go back
home
How your ideas grow up? As we can
see it developed by time?
The photo’s been on my mind for several
days, but it will be possible to make it hap-
pen only once the right
location has been found and after I go
there for a couple of times to try out the
shots. I take some photos
from different angles so I can study them
once they are on my computer. In front of
this empty scene, I
build and imagine the whole set including
the position for the model. In most cases
the locations are real
spots in the city (stairs, courtyards, side-
walks, balconies). Everything that happens
around the models is
scenic design and nothing is accidental. So,
leaving out the time the photo has actually
been in my mind, it
takes about fifteen days, sometimes a little
more, for making it. As time goes by, every-
thing becomes more
and more complex with a longer and more
accurate production, I don’t know where I
will end up, but it’s
surely very exciting. There are times in
which I would like to shoot ten photos a
day, but it’s not possible
anymore
What is the first thing you think
about when you want to create a new
scene?
The first thing I think about when I get
to the set, is where and how I will put the
body of the model
In your opinion. does photographers need the tools & funds to create their imagery or they
can achieve what they want with a basic camera?
I can not answer this question for everyone. As for me, I don’t use big technical devices to make my photos.
I use a digital camera, sometimes a panel of LED light if required, and above all, very little retouching to
photoshop. Everything you see is real. When you have a good idea, you don’t need big technical
equipment
what makes you angry & why?
Violence in general, verbal, physical, psychic. But above all, I cannot tolerate violence and aggression
against children, women, elderly and animals. If I were physically in front of such a scene, I could kill, I'm
sure! Without pity and without regret!
What’s your philosophy in life?
I don’t think I have one. I live my life without planning too much what I have to do. I let myself “cradle" by
life itself, which takes me wherever it wants.
What do you think about love?
Good question. The only thing I can tell you is that LOVE moves the world. In this sad historical moment we
need love more than ever. From how things are going around us, it looks like love is dying out. But I want
to be optimistic, sooner or later it will surprise us.
