ART Habens Sharone Reef Sometimes I let the beauty of pyrography shine on its own, choosing to omit colors completely. Sometimes I add a touch of color, only to accent what make pyrography techniques so unique, such as texture and shading effects. Many times I use a full palette of colors to fully express what my heart and soul wish to tell my viewers. Both everyday experiences and my inner self views are reflected in my artwork. The beauty of creating art is an opportuity to combine real and imagined in one piece. Being creative lets your imagination fit right in with reality. Spiritually and so conneted to my inner self I can vision thoughts and concepts clearly as if standing right in front of me. Similar to a musician, who can hear the music playing within him before he composes his complete musical piece. My everyday life experiences, of course, affect how I view my inner self. In other words, my inner self visions are already a combination of real and imagined, fitting perfectly as I express it in any art form. Most of my art is not named. I like to leave the label out and allow my audience to relate and connect to it based upon their personal views and experiences. While my art certainly tells about my experiences, I love to hear what others see in it. Tree Woman Becoming tells my story, reflecting on my life, as it was during the time when the piece was created. It is probably one of few pieces I've ever named. I only named it because it has such deep personal meaning to me. I reserve the "right" to guide my audience through a message or an experience through my writing and poetry. When I do so, I wish to share my learned lessons, hoping it would touch or benefit one or many. The beauty of visual art is to let the the viewer walk into the forest to lose their mind and discover their soul. Special Issue Working at a local public school during the week and my work at The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on weekends with young children offer ma ny opportunities to get inspired by their young minds' views and creations. Many teachable moments are presented to me as I work with children. One beautiful thought shared by a young mind gives an opportunity to adjust a lesson and allow flexibility to take a new path. 23 4 05
