Away From the Girl’s Crow Father
carries a story of a girl, who gets
dictated by a monster in her soul
(The Crow Father). One day she
falls in love with a boy but when
the boy finds out about her
monster, he starts running away
from the girl. The girl shouts out
to the boy to run away even if it
tears her heart, because she
knows that her monster would
swallow him up alive eventually.
Deceiver is a story of a unhappy
couple, where the man’s heart is
stolen by a new girl, while his
wife is already carries his baby.
I believe one thing that is
beautiful about art is the
openness. It could mean anything
and everything. Art is a beautiful
and mysterious language
expressing things that cannot be
described in words. I don’t want
my artworks to be crystal clear
with what it’s telling the
audiences. I want my audiences
to explore the mystery that the
imagery creates, and build their
own stories out of it. It doesn’t
mean that my art doesn’t carry
any stories by itself, but I want to
open a limitless possibilities for
my audiences to wonder around
and get lost in my imagery, try to
figure out what would the original
story is about. The Boy Runs
Special Issue
I believe all and each human
beings exist as a universe, and
you can’t define a universe with
few words. Universe is composed
of billions of stars, planets and
filled with endless unknown
things. I’d like to explore each
individuals’ universes including
my own self, and document them
as an imagery. That’s one reason
why most of my paintings are
depicting people rather than still
life. Chaos of imagery is the
complicated emotions and
