Artist’s statement
Gail Simpson is a sculptor and public artist who works on projects
individually and as part of Actual Size Artworks, a collaborative team.
Her public art projects can be seen in Oregon, Washington, Nevada,
California, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kansas, North Carolina, Illinois and
other locations nationally. She has also exhibited temporary projects
around the United States and Europe. Her individual work consists of
assemblage using salvaged material such as toys, lawn décor and recycled packaging, to address themes of civic participation and American
identity. Her home and studio are outside of Stoughton, Wisconsin.
