E very facet of this impressive studio complex has been researched, developed, and literally hand built from top to bottom by Jimmy and Mandy, resulting in an aesthetically charming and warmly welcoming environment whilst incorporating all of the acoustic properties paramount in the design and layout of a professional-grade recording studio. The spacious live sound room (the big central one where the artists perform) has a delightfully friendly, almost domestic feel to it, and even boasts a grandiose oak fireplace, large decorative area rugs, and a Yamaha baby grand piano. This cordial atmosphere is most conducive to putting artists at ease, especially those who may be entering a recording studio for the very first time. Orbiting this area are four smaller soundproof booths which can be used to isolate vocal artists, solo instrumentalists, or loud amplifiers which may require complete sound separation from other artists performing in the main sound room. Each booth is equipped with triple glazed soundproof windows so that there’s always visual contact with the sound room and also with the control room — the “heart” of Amplified Wax, which is the area we’re next going to visit.
