ou know the expression, “It tasted
like a slice of heaven”. After eating
Rockwood Bakery’s pumpkin pie, I
think I fully understand the meaning.
Their pumpkin pie is so moist and
creamy it literally melts in your mouth.
It has just the right blend of pumpkin
and spice and you can taste the rich
nutmeg and allspice. These pumpkin
flavors lingered in my mouth like an
expensive European chocolate. The
crust was light, careful not to overpow-
er the flood of flavors from the filling. I
highly recommend trying a slice of this
heaven, or, if you’re like me and won’t
settle for just a slice, you can buy the
whole pie.
In addition to their mouth-watering
pumpkin pie, we also enjoyed their
fresh apple pie, almond croissant, and
chocolate chip cookie the size of your
head. This is one of the freshest, most
consistent bakeries I have visited in
Spokane. It keeps us coming back for
more and it doesn’t hurt that it’s
absolutely adorable, located on the
tree-lined streets of South Hill.

weet Frosting’s makes the best cupcakes, with tons of flavors to
choose from. My favorites include carrot, chocolate salted caramel,
lemon smoothie, and birthday cake, but really you can’t go wrong with
any of them. They also do custom birthday and wedding cakes! Do
yourself a favor and try one (or twelve) of their cupcakes.
