Art Chowder November | December 2017, Issue 12 | Page 4

From the Publisher Dean Cameron W ow, issue 12 of Art Chowder is now on the books! We are so pleased at how the community has come together to celebrate the arts and the artists. I personally continue to be humbled and amazed at all the talent our region has to share. As a regional family, we share the triumphs as well as the challenges. We strive to bring you the finest from the Northwest arts community, through the talents we may know or maybe even the ones we wished we had known. This issue is no exception. While we celebrate the amazing artistic talents of our cover artist/ painter Andy Sewell and Sheri Richie’s whimsical sculpture, we are also saddened by the loss of one of our art community leaders, Dian Zahner. As a special treat we are also bringing back batik artist Nicholas Sironka for a special arti- cle; his friends and family from Kenya (Maasai dancers and singers) will be performing and sharing their culture all across the US with a special focus on our region. This is a “not to be missed” experience! As their schedule spans through December, we will be posting dates and locations on our Art Chowder Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/artchowder/ If you have not yet liked/followed our page, it would be a great time to start! As this year comes to a close we want to thank you for your patronage of Art Chowder—both our advertisers, as well as our subscribers (shameless plug: Art Chowder makes a great Christ- mas gift!) You are the engine that keeps Art Chowder viable in our community. We want to wish everyone a joyous holiday season and we look forward to an awesome 2018. Thank you, Dean Cameron Publisher, Art Chowder 4 ART CHOWDER MAGAZINE
