Art Chowder May | June, Issue 21 | Page 69

Preview Exhibit: Each artist will be displaying a REGIONAL REPORT Cd’A ARTS & CULTURE ALLIANCE piece of art representing their style of work from May 10 through June 4 at the Human Rights Education Institute, located on the edge of Coeur d’Alene City Park. The opening reception is 5-8 pm Friday, May 10 during 2nd Friday ArtWalk. Preview Reception: On May 31 from 6-8 pm, meet the artists and preview their work at a free event open to the public with live music, appetizers, and a no-host bar. A nice kickoff to the event, this is a great opportunity to meet the artists and plan your tour in advance. Ride the Tour Shuttle Bus: Want to avoid driving the tour? We are offering a select number of spots for those who would like to do the tour in a group. This is an all-day tour on Saturday and Sunday, including a stop for lunch. The shuttle picks you up at 10 am at The Art Spirit Gallery and returns you to the Gallery around 5:30 pm. Tickets for each day are 50 dollars and include bottomless mimosas and a special art tour lunch provided by Kris McIlvenna of the Greenbriar Inn. For more information on this fun opportunity, call 208-292- 1629. “Our Studio Tour is undoubtedly the most diverse collection of artists. We have seen visitors from all over, even a bus of students from China. I love meeting everyone and sharing their art journey as I share the process of sculpting and bronzing. This is such a great opportunity for the community to meet the artists, see the studios and learn the artist’s process. I look forward to seeing everyone this summer!” Cheryl Metcalf, wildlife and figurative sculptor, will be featured at nationally acclaimed artist Terry Lee’s studio. Tour program booklets and maps will be available in early May at the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, the Human Rights Education Institute, and The Art Spirit Gallery. The listing of studios, including a map, can be found online — for more information, visit artsandculturecda.org/artists-studio- tour. See you on the tour! May | June 2019 69
