n the other side of Havana Street,
sandwiched between Spokane and
the state of Idaho, is Spokane Valley.
Celebrating 15 years as their own
incorporated municipality, Spokane
Valley does not take 1% of capital
improvement funds for the arts. The largest of the SVAC fundraising
events is the annual Artist Showcase
Art Auction Gala at Mirabeau Park. The
artist’s reception hosted the night prior,
brings collectors, artists, and politicians
together. Artists who travel over 50
miles receive one night’s lodging.
