Art Chowder March | April, Issue 20 | Page 64

T hrough the years the Alliance has evolved from a small group organizing art shows at various venues around the valley (including wineries which have been especially welcoming, such as Wine Girl Wines). Now we are not only promoting our artists, but we are also able to include fundraisers for local charities, as well as raising money for our Lake Chelan Artist Alliance Scholarship Fund. To elaborate, the Lake Chelan Artist Alliance Scholarship Fund is one of the most fulfilling opportunities we have had. We have been able to give two scholarships, one to a graduating Chelan High School student and one to a graduating Manson High School student. The amount per year depends on how much money we are able to raise for these very talented future artists. One of our biggest events, (which was our 5th annual this past year), is the Lake Chelan Artist Bazaar in November. During the bazaar we hold a fundraiser for a local charity, as well as a silent auction for the LCAA scholarship fund. Vendors have always graciously donated items for these fundraisers. Currently we are a small group that continues to promote art whenever the opportunity arises. We envision a future where artists, art organizations, and art education thrive, and art is an integral part of the community and people’s lives. We are excited for 2019! 64 ART CHOWDER MAGAZINE
