LAKE CHELAN ARTIST ALLIANCE

expression, that is usually influenced
by culture and which in turn helps to
change culture. As such, the arts are a
physical manifestation of the internal
creative impulse. Major constituents of
the arts include literature – including
poetry, novels and short stories, and
epics; performing arts – among them
music, dance, and theatre; culinary
arts such as baking, chocolatiering,
and winemaking; media arts like
photography and cinematography, and
visual arts – including drawing, painting,
ceramics, and sculpting. Some art
forms combine a visual element with
performance (e.g. film) and the written
word (e.g. comics).”

The Lake Chelan Artist Alliance was
founded in 2011 and is managed by a
volunteer board elected from Alliance
members. In the beginning our purpose
was to promote financial opportunities
for the artists, such as bazaars, festivals,
auctions, and for a short time we
had a gallery in downtown Manson,
Washington.
Events we have hosted or attended over
the years include: the LCAA Annual
Nano Art Festival; the LCAA Barrels of
Art Silent Auction, various art classes;
the Lake Chelan Thursday Evening
Farmers Market; HDCA Small Town
Christmas Crafts with Kids; and more.
