Art Chowder March | April, Issue 20 | Page 4

From the Publisher Dean Cameron Past, Present and Future I have always been a lover of history. I love to read about things that have happened and study them to develop a much deeper understanding than the average “surface” information. This has been a trait that carries into my collecting artwork. Sometimes when I buy a work but do not know the artist, it begins a quest. Such is the case in this issue. I purchased the painting pictured and decided since it has an Expo ’74 theme, I wanted to know the story of the image as well as the artist. This was no easy quest but suffice to say that you will read about a part of Spokane history in this issue you may not have known before. It is not only interesting, it is something to be proud of and to cherish. While history is valuable to remember and learn from, the present is what shapes our today. We are so fortunate to have a rich history of the arts and the sensational talents of both our past and present-day artisans. Our region is rich with talent and our community is a much better place to live when we embrace and support the creators. We are excited to bring you this issue of Art Chowder and we look forward to helping our community celebrate our heritage, as well as our today, as we look to the future with great anticipation Your publisher, Dean Cameron 4 ART CHOWDER MAGAZINE
