“The North Texas Food Bank
has always been the main focus
of my charitable activities.
From serving on the Board of
Directors, to including NTFB
in my will, I know how very
effective this organization can
be. From children to the elderly,
the numbers of those hungry in
our region continues to grow,
and NTFB has instituted efficient
programs and operations that
have and will continue to feed
millions of people.”

Four-year-old Korilynn likes going to pre-kindergarten.
She continues to learn, and receives breakfast every
time she goes to school. Starting her day with a nourishing
meal is so important for her growing body and mind. Thanks to friends like you, Rachel doesn’t have to
worry about how she will feed her children this summer.
Through her local food pantry, she’s able to feed her
family a wide variety of fresh, healthy food.
This summer, she’ll miss her teachers, her friends
and being able to depend on a good meal. Korilynn’s
family struggles to pay their bills and keep food on the
table. Without your help, breakfast could become a
luxury her family can’t afford while school is out. Across North Texas, children and families rely on the
Food Bank’s network of more than 200 Partner Agencies
such as soup kitchens and food pantries. And we rely on
caring friends like you to ensure that we can keep providing
them with nutritious food at no cost this summer.
Korilynn’s mom, Rachel, is a single mother with two
children. It’s hard enough to make ends meet during the
school year. But when summer comes, she struggles
to feed her family. That’s because when school’s out,
Rachel must find a way to replace the free meals her
children receive each week. And thanks to a $300,000 Matching Opportunity
from the David M. Crowley Foundation and the Light
of Dawn Foundation, your gift by July 31 will go twice
as far! That means every $1 will provide six meals! It’s
only through your support that we can continue to help
children like Korilynn start their day off right . . . with
a nourishing meal. To give online today, visit
ntfb.org/summernewsletter.
Not to mention, Korilynn has special dietary needs,
and her 17-year-old brother is always hungry, as most
growing boys are.
“Without the food pantry, I don’t think we could
make it through the whole month,” Rachel says. “I don’t
know what we would do.”

Hungry Children Depend on
You This Summer
Did you know that in North Texas, one in four children may not
know where they will get their next meal? These hungry children will be
at an even greater risk when the school bells ring for the last time this month.
School-age children can count on a healthy breakfast and lunch every
day during the week at school. But during the summer, these children
need our help. Even one child in our community who might go without
food is too many!
Your continued giving today can help the North Texas Food Bank
prepare for the increased risk of children missing meals throughout the
summer. Through your generous support, we will be able to ensure that
we have healthy food ready when school lets out. Thank you for acting
with compassion for our youngest neighbors in need.
You make sure children like Korilynn won’t go hungry.
