Watch as outhouse
is demolished
When outbuildings are built without permission in
gardens, often then being illegally rented out as living
quarters, the council has the power to order their
demolition. When they are rented illegally, they are often
referred to as ‘beds in sheds’.
The council issues an enforcement notice first, ordering
the building be taken down; but if this is not done within
a specified period the council can then potentially send a
team in to demolish it.

Mayor of London elections
With the elections around the corner for the next mayor of
London, and London Assembly, people are being reminded
to make sure they are registered to vote. The elections will be
held on 5 May 2016 and the last day you can register to vote
is 19 April. The system changed last year to mean everyone
must register individually, rather than one person being able
to register an entire household. For more information on the
elections visit www.london.gov.uk or, for more details on
registration, visit www.ealing.gov.uk/elections
