We are opening our fifth seasonal
photo competition on 1 October –
with the winner again being selected
by the public and published in
this magazine and on our website
EalingNewsExtra.co.uk
Entries to the latest Seasons of Ealing can be sent in throughout October.
You know the drill by now. The idea is for you to send in your favourite snaps of
anything of an autumnal flavour. It could be a landscape, a skyline, wildlife, your
family playing in fallen leaves; whatever takes your eye. The key is that it has to
be taken in the borough. We look forward to seeing your excellent pictures.
The closing deadline for entries is 11.59pm on 31 October 2018. After that
point, a panel will judge the entries and select a shortlist. These shortlisted
photos will be showcased on a gallery on our website EalingNewsExtra.co.uk –
and then everyone can get involved because the winner will be selected via a
public poll we will run at Facebook.com/EalingLondon
Sweeping up
Sweeping teams will be taking to the
streets over the coming weeks to tidy
up fallen autumn leaves in key areas.
The teams will be prioritising spaces
outside schools, hospitals and day
centres before moving on to shopping
areas and public transport stations.
They will also be clearing steep hills
and streets identified as having the
heaviest leaf fall and anywhere that
leaves are thought to pose a risk of
causing roads to flood.
Extra temporary road cleaners will be
helping the crews during the heavie st
leaf fall period, which can last between
six and nine weeks across October and
November, depending on the weather.
