he Ealing Summer
Festivals provided us with
this edition’s cover shot;
and quite rightly so. It should be
another cracker – and you have
a chance to win comedy tickets,
too (see page nine). However, two other stories
left the deepest impression on me in preparing
this June edition of Around Ealing.

Firstly, the amazing Hussain family who have
given a loving home to Raheem, who has
autism. He arrived as a boy needing fostering
and, almost 18 years later, he is still there under
the council’s hugely impactful Shared Lives
programme. See page 23.
Secondly, the selflessness, knowledge and all-
round warmth of those providing the council’s
excellent new service for parents of newborn
babies and toddlers. I wish I knew them a few
years ago. See page 31.
