BRENTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
The best for
your child
A
s parents, we always want
what is best for our child.
Why would we want anything
less? That is why making a
decision about your child’s secondary
school is a really important one. As a
parent of a Year 6 child, how do you
know what school is right for you?
Visiting a school is the best way
to get a real flavour of the ethos and
atmosphere of a place. One parent
who visited Brentside last year told us
that the minute they came through the
gate, they knew Brentside High School
was right for their child. For some
parents, academic rigour is paramount;
for others, it’s ensuring their child is
safe, supported and happy. We believe
Brentside High School offers all these
essential aspects of a really effective
school. With outstanding care, guidance
and support offered to each and every
child, Brentside High School students
“make excellent progress” (Ofsted 2016)
and we will support and challenge every
child to achieve their very best.
So what does life loo k like for a Year 7
student at Brentside High School?
Exciting, challenging and busy! With the
support of an excellent pastoral team,
students settle very quickly into secondary
school life, where they are encouraged
to participate in an extensive range of
activities both inside and outside the
classroom. Whether it is taking part in a
school debate; performing at Disneyland
Paris; learning to ski; or chairing the
school cabinet; the range of opportunities
is endless for Year 7 students.
One of our key strengths is the
exceptional relationships built between
staff and students across the school.
“Staff show they care about their
students. As a result, there is
a supportive culture in which
pupils can thrive.”(Challenge
Partners 2016).
In September we move
from an 8 to a 10 form
entry; a sign of our growing
success. But, as one parent
explains, Brentside has the
‘personal touch’ and that’s
because our students are at
the heart of all that we do. This “diverse
and harmonious learning community”
(Ofsted 2016) ensures all students
achieve their very best.
