The scheme involves
a one-year training
agreement with
the possibility of a
second year, and
an allowance starting
from £210 per week. As an Ealing apprentice you will gain valuable
experience in a council team in one of a wide range of disciplines
– from planning to parks; and from housing to horticulture; all while
working towards a vocational qualification. Some apprentices even go
on to full-time jobs with the council.

Hospital petition
The campaign to Save Our Hospitals resulted
in almost 22,500 signatures on a petition, which
was handed to NHS decision-makers in a bid
to get them to change their minds on plans
to downgrade services at Ealing and Charing
Cross hospitals. Visit www.ealing.gov.uk/soh
for more details and to sign-up for updates.
Northolt park
scores twice
Rectory Park in Northolt now boasts two
impressive, new artificial football pitches as
part of a sports development project due to
be completed last month. The new facilities,
which are operated by the Middlesex
Football Association (MFA), also include a
pavilion, car park, changing facilities and
office space. Funding for the project has
been provided by Ealing Council alongside
the Parklife football hubs programme, MFA
and the London Marathon Trust. The pitches
will open in May to provide year-round
opportunities for local people of all ages to
play football. Keep an eye on Around Ealing
and ealingnewsextra.co.uk for more details.
