Another constant that
has remained through
the years is his
inimitable work ethic.
Even compared to other members,
Jimin works hard. And much of it,
he has said, is for ARMY.
He pushes himself in
every practice. He goes further than
his limits on every tour. He holds
himself to impossible standards,
to the point where we have worried
about him numerous times
throughout our journey together as
ARMY and BTS.
To try and maintain his figure, which
at one point was infamous for his
impressive abs, he used to work
out so hard and long that it often
cut into his sleeping schedule.
Not only that, but he held himself to
oppressive dieting rules with such
extreme results that just looking at
old pictures you can see the
dramatic changes in his body.
Jimin is an incredible human be-
ing with struggles just like the rest
of us. He has said that he pushes
himself this much because he feels
as though he doesn’t deserve the
support ARMY gives him, that the
support we’ve given BTS has been
without getting anything in return.

“If you ask me about
motivation I have to mention
our fans, obviously.
I get so many thoughts when I
think of our fans. They don’t ask
for anything back.
They support us purely.
That makes me feel I have to
work harder. I also want to
repay them.”
His unfounded self-doubt was heartrending to
watch, and it’s a stark reminder that he’s only
human, with human insecurities and
need for validation.
