Imagine the joy of seeing your dream sprout from the tiniest
seedling of an idea into a fruitful and productive reality.

That’s exactly the fulfilling reward students at the Green Oaks
School are experiencing as they diligently tend to their fruits,
vegetables, flowers and herbs.

Thanks to a grant from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation,
the next generation of environmental stewards is using hands-on
learning to experience conservation and experimenting on ways
to improve and protect our natural resources. The Foundation’s
underwriting of the Green Oaks School’s new greenhouse is
allowing students with Down syndrome and other intellectual
disabilities to garden and enjoy the outdoors.

“We really couldn’t give our students the rich experience they
are currently getting if we didn’t have the Foundation behind us,”
said Executive Director Jean Jewell.

The Green Oaks grant illustrates our belief that when the
community and residents address beautification transformation
