Board of Trustees Names
Four New Facilities
The Board of Trustees announced the names of three new
elementary schools and one Fine Arts/Dual Language
Academy: the new elementary on Timber Oaks Lane will
be named in honor of Diane Patrick, the elementary on
Baird Farm Road in honor of Eddy and Debbie Peach, the
elementary on the Workman Junior High site in honor of
Sandy McNutt, and the Fine Arts/Dual Language Academy
in North Arlington in honor of Jimmy and Laura Jones.
Patrick, a former school teacher, served four terms,
including four years as president, on the Arlington ISD
Board of Trustees, and she served four terms as a Texas
State Representative for District 94 in west Arlington.
Patrick also served one six-year term on the State Board
of Education, and she taught in the University of Texas
at Arlington College of Education for 13 years as well as
graduate-level classes at TCU and Dallas Baptist University.
A former PTA president at Duff Elementary and Bailey
Junior High, Patrick has also been a member of the Board
of Directors for the Arlington ISD Education Foundation
for 19 years. Diane Patrick Elementary on Timber Oaks
Lane will open in the fall of 2015.

Eddy and Debbie Peach have a combined 81 years working
in the Arlington ISD. Eddy worked in the AISD for 45
years, including 40 years as the Lamar High School head
football coach. On Aug. 29, 2008, Eddy became the first
head coach to win 300 games at the Class 5A level (current
Class 6A level), and he retired with 310 wins. Debbie, who
taught for 36 years in the AISD, was a teacher at Bailey
Junior High (PE), Roquemore Elementary (PE), Shackelford
Junior High (English) and Lamar High School (English).
Debbie earned Teacher of the Year honors at the elementary,
junior high and high school levels. Eddy and Debbie Peach
