#AISD What’s happening around the district Texas State Representative Tony Tinderholt discussed current events with students at Young Junior High on Nov. 4. Remynse Elementary students experienced Careers on Wheels Day, learning about those that work in the medical, electrical and sanitation fields, as well as the fire department and more. Students dressed to represent the career path they want to take. Students from Dunn Elementary and the Martin High School Key Club capped their Socktober drive by collecting more than 1,200 pair of socks to donate to Arlington Life Shelter and Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex. Rookies from the Dallas Cowboys visited Workman Junior High as part of the new Character Playbook initiative with the NFL and United Way. The initiative teaches students the skills to cultivate character and maintain healthy relationships throughout their lives. 22 Arlington School & Family Students at Barnett Junior High signed up for the No Place for Hate initiative. Barnett is the first AISD school to participate in the program, which provides schools and communities with an organizing framework for combating bias, bullying and hatred, leading to long-term solutions for creating and maintaining a positive climate. Each student signed a Resolution of Respect/No Place for Hate Promise banner and received a Barnett unity bracelet.
