More Than a Home… S We’re Family! ince 1954, Sunshine Acres has been home to more than 1600 children. Founded by Rev. Jim and Vera Dingman, this faith mission has two basic principles: We never solicit money, or a board, or a brick and No child will ever be turned away for financial reasons. Although our home is almost entirely funded by donations our focus is the quality care of the children and not fundraising. We do not solicit on our own behalf. Our support is from many individuals, foundations, and corporations who reached out to say “I want to help”. Friends like Pat Hemmer, an Arizona resident, and Kurt Warner, former NFL quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals make this haven for children possible, and we are so grateful for each and every one! Most of all we are grateful for the many miracles God has done both great and small. Sunshine Acres does not solicit donations. This list is provided at the request of donors to assist in meeting current needs. The following are both current and ongoing needs. Thank you for asking! Thank you for helping! • Paper Goods • Anti-Bacterial Soap, Body Wash, and Shampoo • Athletic Supplies • Cleaning Supplies • Batteries • Gift Certificates (Food, Clothing, Gas Stations, Bus Passes) • Movie Money/Passes Sunshine Acres Children’s Home understands the healing relationship between animals and children. The Two Hearts Horsemanship Program is the ultimate “animal relationship therapy” because it opens the broken hearts of our children, and allows us to teach responsibility and healthy relationship skills. The Two Hearts philosophy is based on the core principal that trust must be earned through hard work (mucking stalls, grooming, feeding, etc.) as well as a competent understanding of the horse and horsemanship skills. No one ”just rides”. The Two Hearts program is a working classroom. Benefits of the Two Hearts Horsemanship Program include: • Respect for self and others • Boundary setting • Empathy • Self-control and confidence • Responsibility and Accountability • Problem Solving and Cooperation • Honesty and Trust • Anxiety reduction The Two Hearts Horsemanship Program strives to create a culture where character matters and where we can learn the lessons of life through the language of the horse. We could not have achieved so much so quickly without God’s presence at the heart of everything we do. Miraculously, God’s love for all creatures great and small becomes abundantly and almost instantaneously understandable the moment our children connect with these four-legged angels. Our children connect with that love in the first magical moments of immersion in the horsemanship program. From its very humble beginning this program has fervently sought to serve those in need. We work hard to provide a unique place where the broken, of any kind, can find healing. AZintheSaddle.com CAVE CREEK’S LARGEST RODEO ARENA! 6605 E. CAVE CREEK RD.
