I
am not an astrology buff, nor a follower of the
zodiac by any measure, and personally I have
never given much credence to horoscopes. But
as a person whose hobbies, personal life, and professional life all seem to revolve around horses I
was interested in learning more about the Year of
the Horse and what it could mean for those who
share my interests. Moreover, I want to help make
sure that every participant in Arizona’s Horse
Industry is successful in pursuit of their passion
for the equine in 2014.
According to the Chinese Zodiac Calendar, the
Year of the Horse begins on January 31, 2014
and will run through February 18th of next
year. In an effort to understand the implications
and significance of this, I read through dozens
of articles posted online about the Year of
the Horse. It seemed to me that each article
contradicted the next to some degree. Adding to
my confusion, the bulk of the information was
comprised of vaguely positive adjectives for the
characteristics of people born under the sign,
together with even more vague predictions for
the fortunes of those born under other signs in
the year ahead. Having set my skepticism aside
and approached this endeavor with an open
mind, I was a little disappointed in the lack
of detail I found. But, if you so desire, I hope
that looking to the alignment of the stars and
astrological prophecy from the far corners of
the globe helps you realize your goals in the
coming year.
For those who prefer a more conventional
approach, I would like to share a few pointers for
success in your all equestrian dealings this year.
