ummer is honored
to be selected as
one of the two 2014
IALHA Youth of the
Year honorees. Summer
Star is 10 years old and
already an accomplished
horsewoman. She began
competing in IALHA horse
shows in 2009, where
she won the National
Championship Walk Trot
Equitation class on her tall
chestnut mare, Xila Star.
She has since competed
in the IALHA National
Show in 2011, 2012 and
2013 winning numerous Champion and Reserve
Champion titles on 3 different horses: Xila Star,
Lucero de Soria, and Reina Amberina.
Summer loves to go to the IALHA National
Show to compete and volunteers in a variety
of ways; such as the ribbon presentations,

rather go to the National Show
than go on vacation. When we
compete at local competitions she
is proud to tell everyone about
her Andalusian horse and how
wonderful a breed it is.

Summer is 10 years old, and a 5th grader at
Sunrise Drive Elementary in Tucson, AZ.
Summer plays the flute in the 5th grade band
and is a member of the Arizona Riders 4-H Club.
Summer’s other hobby is to bake homemade
pies, and currently her favorite recipes she has
created are for pear/mint pie, pineapple pie and
blueberry pie.
She is a dedicated
